The Zamara Kenya Equity Index is designed to reflect the performance of the investable equity market of Kenya. Its universe is the stocks trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange that meet the selection criteria set out by the index. This is a Total Return Index reflecting both price movements and the reinvested dividend income. A Price Return Index is also available; these indices are available in both Kenya Shillings and US dollars.

A summary of the unique rules applied to the index:

• Free Float market Cap > $50,000,000 (means that only shares available for trading are considered, and those have to be above a market capitalisation of KES 5 billion)
• 6 month Average Daily Value Traded > $50,000
• Stocks capped at 20% of the index
