NIC Bank Limited (the Bank) is engaged in the provision of retail and corporate banking, stock brokerage, bank assurance and investment banking services. The bank has five subsidiaires namely NIC Capital, NIC  Bank Tanzania,NIC Bank Uganda,  Nic Leasing and NIC Insurance.  The Bank's operating segments include corporate and institutional banking, which targets medium to large corporate clientele and institutions; treasury dealing and brokerage, includes treasury dealing targets corporate clientele and institutions, with a focus on those with a foreign exchange component in their business, whereas the stock brokerage focuses on the execution of transactions at the Nairobi Securities Exchange; retail banking, which targets the mass affluent to high net worth and business banking clientele, with a focus on becoming the customers' core deposit, transactional banker and financier and also includes its asset finance product; investment banking, which targets large and medium sized companies for research, advisory and capital restructuring requirements and others. It operates in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The company is focusing on growth through leveraging on Innovation. The newest Innovations that the company has rolled include mobile banking, online banking, bordeless banking and agency banking. The current bank strategy is focusing on the SME and retail banking space to be driven by branch expansion. NIC Leasing LLP, the first for a Kenyan bank fits into the Bank’s long term strategic plan which is anchored on an aggressive growth strategy especially in Asset Finance. The company has recently created a new online loan application portal expected to reduce turnaround time for loan processing by 50% and has entered into a strategic partnership with Simba Corporation to enable customers secure new Mitsubishi vehicles.
