About Unga Group Ltd

Unga Group Limited operates as a holding company. The principal activities of the Company are milling of wheat and maize, the manufacture of packaging materials and animal nutrition products, and the distribution of animal health products. The Company operates in two segments: human nutrition and animal nutrition and health. The human nutrition segment produces products for human consumption. The animal nutrition and health segment produces animal feed and mineral supplement products and distributes products for animal health. Unga Group Limited offers minimalist pack designs for its Exe and Hostess brands and also offers Amana range of pulses in Kenya. The Company's subsidiaries include Unga Investments Limited, which has around 65% holding in its subsidiary, Unga Holdings Limited, which operates as a holding company in Kenya. Its other subsidiaries are Unga Limited, Unga Farm Care (East Africa) Limited, Bullpak Limited and Unga Millers (U) Limited. 

Over 90% of the company’s revenue is derived from Kenya with the remainder attributed to sales in Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. The company has production facilities in Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret and Dar es Salaam. It  has embraced a Production process that seeks to eliminate wasteful activities during production. The Company recently announced that it is in the process of incorporating the Ennsvalley Bakery into its business having bought a majority stake from Kenya’s sole inflight caterer NAS Holdings.
